The music of Jess Powers & Tyler-James Kelley is an original duo project featuring Tyler-James Kelly of The Silks and his partner, Jess Powers. This collaboration was inspired by their shared love of Country & Western music. Among their original works they regularly sprinkle in classics from Waylon Jennings, John Prine, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, and many others. Jess and Tyler-James are recognized for their lively sets and beautiful vocal arrangements and harmonies. Tyler-James is a talented and accomplished guitar player with lightning-fast finger picking abilities and Jess Powers is a well-known songstress in the New England music scene. Jess and Tyler-James have been receiving high-praise and recognition for their debut single “Fool with a Song” by various media outlets such as Red Line Roots and No Depression. The album, recorded live at Armory Sound in Somerville, MA, features some of music’s heavy-weights like Brooks Milgate, Duncan Arsenault, and Jeremy Moses Curtis (of Curtis Mayflower and Jeffery Foucault).
