Glen David Andrews is a living New Orleans legend born and raised in the historic Treme neighborhood, the cultural cradle of New Orleans Jazz. Born into a well-known musical family, Glen stood out from an early age for his commanding stage presence, powerful vocals and uncanny ability to blend genres while staying true to his deep roots of New Orleans music. Live, Glen David Andrews is a preacher, a bandleader, a showman and a soul-shaker, his shows overflow with high energy, improvisation and audience participation. Glen mixes classic brass band standards, spirituals, funk grooves, jazz and soul into a swirling musical gumbo that channels everything from Mahalia Jackson and Louis Armstrong to James Brown and Prince. After years of collaborations with The Treme Brass Band, Rebirth Brass Band and New Birth Brass Band Glen launched his solo career. As Glen began gaining more global recognition, he started performing at major festivals and venues internationally including Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland), Jazz a Vienne (France) and Festival International de Jazz de Montreal (Canada). Glen has also performed in Brazil, Germany, South Africa and the Netherlands. Most recently, GDA has earned prestigious recognition and began making headliner status at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival and has made notable appearances at Lincoln Center NYC, The Blue Note NYC, The Kennedy Center Washington, D.C, The Dakota Jazz Club, Levon Helm Studios and, Jazzablanca Festival, Casablanca, Morocco. GDA has collaborated with countless musicians and bands including Allen Toussaint, Trombone Shorty, Irvin Mayfield, Delfayo Marsalis, Amos Lee, Ivan Neville, Galactic, Amy Helm and many more. He has released 8 albums that showcase his versatility as a musician. Glen David Andrews is a keeper and torchbearer for New Orleans culture and music as well as an iconic musical trailblazer who continues to make a lasting impression on the music industry.
