Zang and the Banshees play an eclectic mix of funk, soul, disco and hard rock, from Chic to Led Zep, James Brown to Bowie, Al Green to Daft Punk, and beyond. Formed with the core of Matt Fraza’s band in the Summer of 2024 to just have a blast, things took a jump into the cosmos when Rhiannon Martin joined the band, adding her powerful, gutsy vocals, percussion, and flair for group dynamics. Zang studied at University as a jazz drummer, but has proven to just as funky and musical on fret less Fender bass, and the band is proud to call him leader. Lead guitarist Curtis Eaton has been melting faces locally with his Gibson since the Seventies, and his joy in playing really moves audiences. At the drums, Gordon Wilhelm, aka the Silver Fox, also a veteran rock and roller for more than fifty years, will definitely get the people moving and grooving. Filling out the group on vocals and guitar is Matt Fraza, host of the Pump’s Wednesday Lounge, and a songwriter/performer from the old school. Multigenerational, funky, and committed to giving audiences a night off from their worries, Zang and the Banshees might just be your new favorite band.
